Mini Scamp MK1 (1969)

This is a unique, shorter than usual Mini Scamp MK1 (built on Scamp designs, not from the kit). The steel frame was fully galvanised when it was built and has suffered no rot in 40 years! All body work is aluminium and in good condition.

It has a 998cc Mini A series engine and MK1 gearbox, original 10 inch Mini Cooper S wheels (worth ~ £250 alone) with 4 new tyres, Corbeau bucket seats, very comfortable and in good condition, tow bar and socket (working last time I used it).

MOT till May 09, TAX exempt.

It is mechanically sound, the vinyl roof needs replacing but is still usable. It has a spare vinyl roof which is in much better condition but has few windows. The last MOT had advisory welding required on the rear sub frame, as with any mini the sub frame is a replaceable part. The handing is great and it's lighter than a mini which makes it very nippy. Classic insurance is cheap, it's very fuel efficient and parts are also cheap and easily available.

Scamp draws a lot of friendly attention and I'm sure you will be the only person you know who has one!  This car was built by my uncle and has remained in the family all its life. I have owned it for 14 years and have really enjoyed driving and maintaining it. I now have plans to leave the country and it's time to move on!

It was difficult to put a price on this car, it's like non other and an absolute classic. I really want it to go to somebody who will value and look after it.

It's for sale in Bristol at £1,500 ono.
